InnovateMontana.com, a new $150,000 campaign to promote Montana's economic opportunities and amenities, is taking its message on the road to Seattle in the form of five semi trailers bearing images of Montanans working, fishing and recreating.

Alberta farmer plans eco-village
Brian Rozmahel is looking for 20 families to move to his Alberta farm and create an eco-village patterned on similar communities in Denmark, and the project is one of several adopted by the Alberta Rural Sustainability Alternatives Network as a way to reinvigorate the province's smaller communities.

Colorado city's appeal to international visitors wins national award
About 10 percent of visitors to Grand Junction come from abroad, due in part to the Colorado city's campaign to attract foreign visitors, and that effort won the Colorado city a Certificate of Appreciation for Achievement in Trade from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Bear family breaking into cars in Colorado community
A black bear with three cubs at her side has broken into a number of cars in Snowmass Village, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife agents said they're hoping to capture the family of bears and relocate them.

BLM puts Stage One fire restrictions in place in Montana county
Due to dry conditions in Montana's Lewis and Clark County, the Bureau of Land Management has instituted Stage One fire restrictions on those lands within that county.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is in a tour of Northern Rocky Mountain States, with campaign events planned in Sun Valley, Idaho, on July 10; Hamilton, Mont., on July 11; and Jackson Hole, Wyo., on July 12.

Montana plant hustles to build modules for Alberta oilsands operations
Bay Ltd.'s operations in Billings already employs 190 workers, and if the assembly of the 29 modules the Montana plant is making for oilsands operations in Alberta goes well, more orders could be forthcoming and jobs could be added.
