St. Luke's sells bonds for new hospital, clinic in Idaho
David Pate, chief executive officer of St. Luke’s Health System in Idaho, said an increase in demand was the impetus for the bond sale to finance a $90-million hospital in Nampa and a $30 million medical plaza in Fruitland.

Colorado county commission rescinds oil shale resolution
The Garfield County Commission, which was being challenged under open-meeting laws for attending a meeting in Utah on oilshale leasing, voted 3-0 at its meeting on Tuesday to rescind its April 9 resolution opposing the Bureau of Land Management's decision to limit oilshale leases in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming.

Montana FWP schedules classes to certify wolf trappers
Trappers who want to trap wolves in Montana must first be certified, and the state Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department will hold certification classes, with the first one scheduled in Helena on Sept. 8, with additional classes scheduled in Bozeman, Butte, Dillon and Livingston.

USFS: Critical days ahead on wilderness fire in Montana
The Sawtooth Fire burning in the Bitterroot National Forest in Montana has burned 400 acres in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, but there are heavy fuels in the fire's path and with afternoon winds, managers are concerned about corraling the fire.

Wildfire in NE Wyoming closes highway, forces evacuations
A wildfire estimated to be 235 acres in size forced the evacuation of a dozen residents east of Upton and closed Wyoming Highway 16 between Newcastle and Upton for a time on Tuesday.

The 45-acre wildfire in Glacier National Park didn't grow much on Tuesday, but the Avalanche Lake Trail remained closed as crews worked the Montana wildfire.

Horses, mules give Yellowstone cutthroat trout a lift to Wyoming lakes
Wyoming has been moving native Yellowstone cutthroat trout to waterways in Wyoming where they aren't threatened by non-native species for the past six years, and late last month, horses and mules were used to haul the native fish to a waterway in the Bighorn National Forest.

Under a proposed bill that the Wyoming The Legislature's Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Committee voted to sponsor, hunters of any type of game would be allowed to use silencers on their guns.

Montana medical device company gets $25-million cash infusion
Bacterin International Holdings, which manufactures medical devices for bone grafts and certain transplants in Belgrade, received $25 million from OrbiMed, which the Montana company plans to use to pay off $10 million in debt and to hire dozens more salespeople.

Report: More out-of-state businesses show interest in Wyoming
An annual report from the Wyoming Business Council said that, between July 2011 and July 2012, 40 valid out-of-state businesses looked into establishing a location in the Cowboy State, up 11 from the number reported in the 2011 fiscal year.
