Idaho towns could be affected by proposed coal-export plans
Proposals to build up to five or six ports along Oregon and Washington state coasts to export coal from Wyoming and Montana to Asian markets could have an impact in Idaho towns through which the trains bearing that coal would pass.

Contractor cleaning up Idaho National Laboratories site gets 3 more years
The U.S. Department of Energy has renewed the contract for CH2M-WG Idaho LLC, which has been leading the cleanup work at Idaho National Laboratories since 2005, for three more years at a cost of $730 million.

Change in law creates immunization dilemma for military families in Idaho
TRICARE, which offers insurance to military families and retirees, will no longer pay for pediatric immunizations at physician's offices, and Mountain Home Air Force Base is offering those shots, but that doesn't help some families who live far from the base, and the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is urging families to call their local pharmacy to see if they can order in the shots.

Whitetail deer die-off in NE Wyoming worst in decades
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department said epizootic hemorrhagic disease, or EHD, a disease spread by a biting gnat, has caused the worst die-off of whitetail deer in northeast Wyoming in decades.

Glacier National Park officials said a fish barricade completed recently will keep non-native fish from reaching Quartz Lake, and protect the migratory bull and westslope cutthroat trout in the Montana lake.
